Silas K. Kobia, OGW (64), is a co-operative practitioner and author of: The Cooperative Movement in Kenya: Challenges and Opportunities, published in 2011. He was trained in co-operative management (1970-72) at KIA; he is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries (UK) and a Certified Public Secretary (Kenya). He has an MBA degree from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT). He served as a co-operative officer (1972-75), lecturer at the Co-operative College of Kenya (1975-78); accountant and company secretary for the Cooperative Insurance Services CIS (1978-87); general manager of CIS (1987-93) and managing director CIS/CIC (1993-2001). He served as board member of the Association of Kenya Insurers AKI (1998-2001), board member and vice-chairman of National Hospital Insurance Fund NHIF (1999-2002), committee member of State Corporations Advisory Committee SCAC (2003-2009) and the current Chairman of Kenya National Library Service (KNLS). He is founder of Lukiko Consulting Trust (LCT). 
Labourn Minishi (64), is a co-operative expert, having been active as a student of cooperative economics (1972-1976); a cooperative promotion field officer in Kenya (1976-1978); a lecturer at the Co-operative College of Kenya (1978-1989); a Vice Principal at the college (1989-1991); an employee of the International Co-operative Alliance (1991-1995) and a freelance consultant in East, Central and Southern Africa since 1996. His publications include: My life, My Story an autobiographical text and Understanding Cooperatives in Africa: A Handbook for Students, published in 2012.  Minishi is holder of master’s degrees from Marburg University in Germany and York University, Canada. Currently, and since mid 2012, Minishi is an associate consultant with LCT.
